A modern fashion corset has 6–12 boning strips (in flexible plastic) that shape without restricting breath. Closure is typically a back zip or lacing. Length ranges from directly below bust to hip — longer means more silhouette impact. On materials: satin for evening, cotton with elastane for daily wear, faux leather for expressive streetstyle. Check boning quality — it shouldn't kink.

How to wear a corset

For daily wear, layer a corset under or over a loose blouse. Solo, wear it with high-waist jeans or a midi skirt; a high waistband keeps the silhouette cohesive. For evening, a satin corset pairs with a long skirt or palazzo trousers. Rule: since the corset is the statement, keep jewellery and handbag minimal.
