Introduction
A hat is the accessory that changes an outfit instantly. At Andre Tan you'll find fedoras, panamas, berets and beanies in felt, straw and wool — for summer, winter and the transitional seasons.
For summer, straw hats and panamas protect from the sun and let the scalp breathe. A classic panama has flexible fine straw that can be rolled. For winter we work with wool felt — it insulates, resists water and holds shape in the rain. Pure wool berets are a transitional classic. Merino wool beanies are warmer than cotton and don't scratch the skin.
A wide-brim fedora pairs with coats in earth tones and loafers — the hat colour should echo shoes or bag. A panama works with wide linen trousers and simple sandals in summer. A beret suits structured blazers and knits; tilt it to one side to visually elongate the face. Wear beanies pulled low on the forehead with oversize coats, or loose at the back of the head for sportier looks.
Our hat collection is refreshed twice yearly — spring for summer, autumn for winter. Sizes are tuned to European head circumferences (typically 56–58 cm). Felt hats are made by a traditional Italian workshop.
